Thyme Garlic Butter

Jun 29th

I made this butter last week to top off some great New York Strips. I had fresh Thyme in my herb garden, so I softened some butter, added a lot of garlic, sea salt, and some pepper. I’m always trying to recreate the flavor from Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, the smell coming out of their kitchen is amazing, warm, nutty, brown melted butter, on top of seared 950 degree cooked steaks. I have to say I think this new recipe on top of anything is my new favorite. If you are not into steak, you could put it on top of chicken, fish, pork, or vegetables, even pasta would be yummy. Let me know what you think? I had an interesting email this last week from a new company called HelloFresh is a subscription meal-kit delivery service. You choose three delicious recipes each week, and they deliver exact, pre-measured, ingredients along with visual step-by-step recipe guides. The dishes have all been designed by a Michelin-starred Manhattan restaurant, but even beginners in the kitchen can create their dishes in 30 minutes using the most basic kitchen utensils! Their aim at HelloFresh is to get everyone away from unhealthy takeout, empty fridges, expensive restaurants, and back into the kitchen-cooking, eating healthy and spending quality time with your family! They were nice enough to offer me a complementary box of three meals, if I provided a review about my experience with them. I’m so looking forward to receiving my meals! They will be arriving July 11th, so tune in and read my review after that week. They also are offering my friends and family $30.00 off of your first box. The referral code is SBV3KN8. Go to and check them out. I can’t wait to see what they offer, it sounds like a fabulous concept to me! Let me know what you think about this new venture. I’m all about getting family, couples, and friends back to the table. I also just read a fabulous new book called Bread & Wine by Shauna Niequist, its all about entertaining and really just living in the moment at the table! Have a great weekend everyone! Tomorrow is our Anniversary, 23 years! We will be celebrating around the table at a restaurant in Holland Michigan. Love, Stacey
