These Michigan Cherry Milkshakes came about while P.J. was visiting us this summer. Our good friend Deb Wollrab had graciously given us some Crane’s Michigan Montmerency Cherry Preserves. I wanted to try something different with them and P.J. suggested, “why don’t you make milkshakes?” So, on a really hot blistering 90 percent humidity day in Michigan, we had these refreshing milkshakes. You can make them with any cherry preserves, but if you are lucky enough to live in Michigan or even want to order from their online store, it is called Crane’s Pie Pantry. They are located in Fennville Michigan and downtown Holland Michigan. They are actually known for their delicious pies and cider donuts. They also have the most fabulous Apple Butter I have ever had. These milkshakes are very simple to make just 3 ingredients. If you want to make it a cocktail you could add a shot of bourbon or brandy, think Brandy Alexander’s with cherry! It has been awhile since my last blog. Pete and I actually were a little under the weather this weekend, in 23 years of being married I don’t think we have ever been sick at the same time. Whenever I’ve been sick, or he has, we always wait on each other, but this time we were at a loss of what to do. We couldn’t of very well asked Louis Bernard our Basset hound or our three Shih Tzus to run to the store or fix us chicken noodle soup. So poor Pete had to run to the store! Thank goodness we are on the mend and feeling better. We are off to Michigan again the end of August to go and pick up our beloved Prius, we will stay awhile and enjoy the end of summer. Who knows what next summer holds for us, so I’m going to enjoy every minute of taking the solitude in, walking the beach, walking to the Lighthouse, listening to the birds and feeding Woody the Woodchuck. I have said numerous times that Big Red Lighthouse is my Light in my darkest hour! I hope you all have a great rest of your summer, let me know if you have a favorite flavor of milkshake that you like or just drop me a comment about your favorite Summer spot. Thanks for reading, as always love, Stacey
